Abstract:The tanks-in-series physical model and mathematical model of chlorinated paraffin-52 industrial reactor suiting for continuous production were developed, which on the basis of the reaction characteristics of chlorinated paraffin-52 and the reaction product quality requirements. Tanks-in-series mathematical model in combination with chlorinated reaction kinetics model were used for chlorination reactor simulation under different process conditions. The simulation shows that the effective volume of the reactor is related to the reactor quantity, combination mode, and the distribution manner of the chlorine flow and reactor volume. Among the different modes, the reactor volume of single continuous stirred tank reactor is the biggest, six reactors in series and the average distribution of chlorine flow and reactor volume takes second place, and six reactors in series and the chlorine flow average distribution or similar reactor volume is the least. The simulation results would be the basis for the chlorinated paraffin-52 reactor type selecting and designing in the actual continuous production process.
