Research Progress on FI Catalysts for Olefin Polymerization

Abstract: This article reviews the performance, structure, synthesis, and application of FI catalysts, with a focus on the electronic effects and spatial structures of various substituents on ligands and their high activity in catalyzing ethylene polymerization. By optimizing the design of the catalyst structure, efficient synthesis of active polymerization products can be achieved. In addition, by analyzing and summarizing the the applications of FI catalysts in catalyzing propylene homopolymerization, ethylene homopolymerization, ethylene and propylene copolymerization, ethylene and long-chain α-olefin copolymerization, as well as the influence of catalysts on the structure and properties of olefin block copolymers, new ideas are provided for the development of high-performance FI catalysts.
