Abstract:To develop a spray solid distributor used in the self-cleaning heat exchanger, the cold model experiments of solid particle distributionwere conducted with inorganic particle in 400 mm and 2 000 mm cold model apparatus. The effects of gas pressure and gas flow rate on solid particledistribution were investigated in the spiral, hole and swirl solid distributors by comparing variance(S2) and column charts of particle distribution. The results showed that the solid particle distribution of spiral and hole distributors were greatly affected by changes in gas pressure and gas flow rate, while less by swirl solid distributor under the operating conditions of gas pressure 0.3-0.8 MPa, gas flow rate 150-700 m3/h(N), the latter had good operating flexibility and the best overall performance. The swirl solid distributor herein developed had successfully been applied in acrylonitrile plants, extending the operation cycle from six months to more than one year.
