Abstract:Bi2WO6/RGO photocatalyst by supported Bi2WO6 on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) was prepared using solvothermal method in the mixed solvents of ethylene glycol and deionized water. The structure and morphology of pure Bi2WO6 and Bi2WO6/RGO photocatalyst were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that Bi2WO6 was successfully composited with RGO. UV-vis spectra showed that Bi2WO6/RGO photocatalyst had strong adsorption in the visible light region. The methylene blue (MB) pollutant was degraded by Bi2WO6 and Bi2WO6/RGO photocatalyst under visible light. The results confirmed that Bi2WO6/RGO photocatalyst exhibited better photocatalytic activity than pure Bi2WO6, which was attributed to accelerated separation of photo electron from holes. At the same conditions, the degradation ratio of MB catalyzed by Bi2WO6/RGO was high up to 100% and the MB degradation ratio catalyzed by the pure Bi2WO6 was only 75%,which indicated that Bi2WO6/RGO composite material was a new type of photocatalyst with high catalytic efficiency.
