Abstract:A process of desulfurization and resource utilization of sulfur-containing waste gas with 1.4×104 Nm3/h was designed for a petrochemical company to solve the problem of treatment and recovery of sulfur industrial waste gas. By comparing various desulfurization and sulfur recovery processes, the process combining the super Claus process and Sinopec sulfur recovery (SSR) process was adopted to centralize the treatment of sulfur-containing waste gas and recover sulfur to realize the resource utilization of sulfur-containing waste gas. The whole process including four parts of acid gas combustion process, Claus reaction process, tail gas treatment process and liquid sulfur degassing process was established, and the process was simulated and optimized by AspenPlus software. In the process heat integration technology was used to design the heat exchange network of energy recovery, which could save standard coal of 8 887 t and reduced carbon emissions of 2.185×104 t every year. The good environmental, economic and social benefits would be achieved.
