Abstract:To further understand the characteristic of m-xylene(MX) oxidation reactor, the model of continuous gas-liquid-solid industrial stirred tank reactor ofMX oxidation to isophthalic acid(IA) was established and solved by using Aspen Customer Modeler(ACM) software. Based on the high accuracy and predictability validated by the existing industrial plant operation data, an annual 150 kt IA oxidation reactor was designed and the various factors were investigated by computation. The computation results showed that both the conversion of MX and the yield of IA increased while the mass fraction of3-CBA in the liquid phase of reactor decreased and the side reaction consumptions increased when the concentration of catalyst and the pressure of reactor increased or the mass fraction of water decreased.
