Abstract:In order to reduce the concentration of propylene oxide in waste gas to meet the environmental standard, the sulfuric acid pickling technology and activated carbon fiber (ACF) adsorption process were combined to treat the waste gas containing high concentration propylene oxide. The effects of pickling operation conditions, dynamic adsorption time of activated carbon and combining the two processes on the efficiency of propylene oxide removal were investigated separately. The results indicated that under the optimal operation conditions of temperature of 25 ℃, inlet gas quantity of 100 L/h, sulfuric acid concentration of 30% and quantity of 1.5 L, ACF quantity of 10 g, the concentration of the propylene oxide gas was reduced from 800 g/Nm3 to 4 mg/Nm3 when using the combined process. It is proved that the combined process is a proper technology for propylene oxide waste gas treatment.
