Abstract In order to improve the processability and dimensional stability of the resin for resin transfer molding (RTM), a benzoxazine resin named Palp with allyl structure was synthesized from the perspective of molecular design. RTM resins were prepared by mixing Palp, diphenylmethane diamine bismaleimide (BMI) and diphenylmethane diamine benzoxazine resin (MDABOZ) in a certain proportion, and the properties of RTM resins prepared with different proportions were investigated. The results showed that the comprehensive performance of the synthesized RTM resin was better when the mass ratio of Palp, BMI, and MDABOZ was 2.2:1.0:3.26. The initial viscosity of the resin was 470 mPa·s at 100 ℃ and maintained 520mPa·s after 150min at 100 ℃, which demonstrated the excellent processability of the resin. The mechanical properties of the cured resin were excellent, the tensile strength was 69.5 MPa, the elongation at break was 1.58% and the critical energy release rate reached 278 J/m2. At the same time, the cured resin has excellent heat resistance and low curing shrinkage.
