Modeling and Simulation of Reaction-Diffusion-Heat Transfer Coupling on Gas-Solid Surface

Abstract To calculate the energy transfer and transformation and predict the change of solid temperature in gas-solid catalytic reaction and heat transfer process, a discrete-continuous coupling model of reaction-diffusion-heat transfer process was established by using the hard sphere-pseudo particle method. By simulating the gas-solid interaction under high temperature gas effect, the energy exchange mechanism at micro scale was revealed. The results showed that when the gas inflow temperature increased from 600 K to 4 200 K, the total heat flux on solid surface increased from 0.4 MW/m2 to 9.5 MW/m2, which increased up to 23-fold. The simulation could predict the heat flow and temperature distribution in solid under the complex gas-solid surface interactions, providing a feasible model and method for the study of the material surface reaction and heat transfer process at the nano-scale and micro-scale.
