Abstract:Monobromo polystyrene(PS-Br) and monobromo poly(methyl acrylate)(PMA-Br) reacted with 1,1-diphenylethylene(DPE) via radical addition cross-coupling(RACC) reaction. The products were characterized by gel permeation chromatography(GPC) equipped with Ultraviolet(UV) detector. Because the selective absorption of PS and PMA to UV-light of 254 nm were different, the resulting UV-GPC curve only reflected the component containing PS. Cross-coupling efficiency(CCE) could be calculated by UV-GPC curve simulated by Gaussian distribution function. The effects of reaction conditions on RACC were investigated by the method and the maximum CCE was 78.1%.
