Abstract:In order to achieve highly selective conversion of the by-product acetone (produced in the process of methanol to olefins) into ethylene and propylene, the reaction of acetone over SAPO-34 catalyst during continuous operation was investigated at different reaction temperatures and acetone concentrations in a fluidized bed reactor. The results were compared with the conversion results of methanol or butanone over SAPO-34 catalyst. The experimental phenomena were analyzed in detail in combination with the acetone conversion path reported in the literature. Under the conditions of reaction temperature of 550 ℃, pressure of 0.28 MPa, feed space velocity of 0.31 h-1 and feed concentration of 30% (mass fraction), the conversion of acetone was 94.37% and the selectivity of ethylene and propylene was 53.2%. This study has certain guiding significance for the efficient utilization of acetone, a by-product of methanol to olefins process.
