Abstract:Various new adsorbents prepared from biomass such as agricultural and forestry wastes can not only realize the reuse of agricultural and forestry wastes, but also can be used to treat various pollutant wastewater simply and efficiently. In this paper the research progress on the preparation of biochar from agricultural and forestry wastes to remove pollutants from the environment was reviewed. The preparation and modification methods of biochar, as well as its application in the treatment of heavy metal ions, organic pollutants, emerging pollutants, soil remediation and research on carbon neutral and so on. were discussed. Moreover, the development direction of biomass adsorption material in the future environmental pollution treatment was also prospected.
