Abstract:Isomerization of n-butane is significant for the raw material supplement of alkylation unit and the efficient utilization of C4 resources. In this paper, the mechanism of n-butane isomerization, industrial isomerization technology for n-butane and the research progress of n-butane isomerization catalysts at home and abroad in recent years were reviewed. It was known that the research of n-butane isomerization catalyst mainly focused on bifunctional catalyst. The relationship between metal active centers and acid centers has been continuously explored to further understand the mechanism of alkane isomerization, so as to achieve the precise design of isomerization catalysts. The main research direction in the future may be to reduce the content of precious metals or find other auxiliary components that can replace precious metals.
