Abstract:With the improvement of environmental protection awareness, the environment-friendly titanium catalyst gradually replaced the traditional antimony catalyst in the field of polyester synthesis. Based on the analysis of the reaction mechanism of titanium catalysts, titanium catalysts were divided into two categories of homogeneous and heterogeneous according to the existing state of catalysts in the polymerization system. Through the analysis of the preparation and application process of the two kinds of catalysts, it was pointed out that the long preparation route and high cost of homogeneous catalysts were the key issues that need to be paid attention to, and the difficulty of heterogeneous catalysts lied in their dispersion, especially in the later stage of polyester preparation because of the increasing viscosity of the system, and whether the catalyst could be well dispersed in the system importantly influenced on its catalytic performance. The main research and development progress and industrial application of titanium catalysts in recent years were briefly summarized according to the above classification.
