Abstract:In order to obtain high-performance nylon materials, nylon 66/1212 (PA66/1212) was synthesized by copolymerizing nylon 66 (PA66) with nylon 1212 (PA1212). Then its process of non-isothermal crystallization kinetics was analyzed by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The results showed that PA66/1212 had the lowest crystallization temperature and the slowest crystallization rate compared with PA66 and PA1212. It also showed that the crystal growth mode of PA66/1212 was more likely to two-dimensional growth while the crystal growth mode of PA66 and PA1212 were tend to three-dimensional spherical crystal in the non-isothermal crystallization process. The non-isothermal crystallization activation energy of PA66/1212 was -76.9 kJ/mol, which is lower than that of PA66 (-127.1 kJ/mol) and PA1212 (-155.4 kJ/mol) respectively.
