Abstract:Thermoplastic polyamide elastomer (TPAE) is a kind of multiblock copolymer composed of polyamide as hard segment and polyether or polyester as soft segment. It has many excellent properties such as low density, good thermal stability and excellent wear resistance. The hard segment and soft segment of TPAE are mainly connected by different types of terminal groups, including the reaction between carboxyl group and hydroxyl group, carboxyl group and amino group, isocyanate group and carboxyl group, acyl chloride and amino group, isocyanate group and amino group. In this paper, the research progress about the synthesis methods of TPAE is reviewed. The mechanisms and characteristics of polycondensation, polyaddition, in-situ polymerization and other methods are systematically introduced, and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed and discussed.
