Abstract:Orthorhombic nano-tungstate particles were synthesized by low-temperature liquid route. Batch experiments were carried out to investigate the adsorption kinetics and equilibrium of methylene blue onto WO3·H2O. The effect of initial pH value was evaluated. The experimental results showed that the adsorption was favorable under alkaline conditions. The kinetic experimental data was properly correlated with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model with the apparent activation energy 35.95 kJ/mol. The saturated adsorption capacity obtained from the Langmuir equation was 46.51 mg/g. The values of thermodynamic parameters of ?G, ?H and ?S calculated were 66.07 kJ/mol, -3.82 kJ/mol and 234.55 J/(mol·K) respectively, which showed that the overall adsorption process was endothermic and spontaneous.
