Abstract:A series of ZSM-5 zeolites were synthesized by hydrothermal method with different ratios of silicate to aluminium. The obtained catalysts were further characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and N2 adsorption-desorption. The characterization results indicated that the zeolites had a good MFI topology. The adsorption property of the ZSM-5 for adsorption of 1-butylene was investigated in a continuous fixed bed reactor with gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of 6 000 h-1, 1-butylene concentration of 0.02%, adsorption temperature of 20 ℃, adsorbent volume of 30 mL. The results indicated that ZSM-5 (molecular ratio of SiO2 to Al2O3 was 40) performed the best 1-butylene adsorption capacity up to 36.3 kg/m3. Moreover, the six times adsorption-desorption cyclic test showed that ZSM-5 had good stability. The adsorption process was found to follow the second order kinetic model.
