Production and Application of β/MCM-49 Molecular Sieve Transalkylation Catalyst

Abstract:β and MCM-49 zeolites were produced by 8 m3 high pressure reactor to further produce β/MCM-49 zeolite transalkylation catalyst. And the effect of its structure and acidity on the transalkylation reaction was investigated. The structure and acidity of the catalyst were tested by X-ray diffraction(XRD), NH3-temperature programmed desorption(NH3-TPD) etc. At the same time, the study on the laboratory activity evaluation and the stability of industrial application in the cumene transalkylation unit of a 120,000 ton/year phenol-acetone production plant were carried out. The results show that the catalyst has the structural characteristics both of β and MCM-49 zeolites. And it has suitable strong acid and weak acid content. The catalytic conversion of polycumene was high, and the content of product n-propylbenzene was low. The catalysts were used in the synthesis of cumene transalkylation unit in a phenol and acetone industrial production facility under the conditions of 185-196 ℃, polycumene (dicumene + tricumene) WHSV 0.5-0.9 h-1. After 40 months of operation, the catalysts showed good catalytic performance, and it met the production requirements of equipment.
