Abstract:An adsorption coupled with catalytic oxidation desulfurizer was prepared by impregnation method, and its desulfurization performance was evaluated in a Æ39 mm×14 mm fix-bed micro-reactor. The results indicated that the sulfur capacity of the coupled desulfurizer was greater than that of virgin activated carbon in the H2S removal process. Optimum points were obtained after investigating the effects of GHSV and temperature on desulfurization performance. A thinner retention layer and more sufficient contacting time could be guaranteed under a higher space velocity. Water films were required in desulfurization, but mass transfer resistance was increased once water content in feed became higher. Coupled desulfurizer would efficiently perform within relatively low oxygen content. Moreover, the used desulfurizer could be thermally regenerated under N2 atmosphere, and its sulfur capacity could reach 83.6% of fresh one’s after once regeneration.
