Abstract:A series of acrylated epoxidized soybean oil (AESO) were synthesized by epoxy soybean oil (ESO) and acrylic acid (AA) via ring opening reaction in the presence of alkaline catalysts and the crosslinking coatings were prepared by ultraviolet curing with free radical photoinitiator. The structures of AESO were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and the effects of reaction temperature, reaction time and molar ratio of ESO to AA on the yield of AESO were studied. The results showed that AESO with a functionality of 2.90 was prepared in the following conditions: the molar ratio of epoxy groups to acrylic acid was 1.00:0.95, the reaction temperature was 110 ℃ and the reaction time is 4 h. The pencil hardness test as well as thermogravimetric analysis results of the cured resin showed that crosslinking coatings with good thermal stability could be obtained in the following conditions: the mass fraction of photoinitiator was 3%, pre-curing time was 20 s with 20% light intensity and post-curing time was 10 s with 100% light intensity.
