Abstract:A new solid superacid catalyst MoO3/TiO2-ZrO2-SiO2 was synthesized. Its morphology and structure were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption-desorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and differential scanning calorimetry-thermal weight (DSC-TG). The results showed that compared with the catalysts such as concentrated sulfuric acid and MoO3/ZrO2-SiO2, MoO3/TiO2-ZrO2-SiO2 had higher acid strength, larger specific surface area and average pore diameter, more uniform particle distribution, and amorphous form. The thermal stability was also very good. It was applied to the esterification reaction, and the catalytic performance was also obviously improved. It is a new solid super acid catalyst with higher performance and environmental friendliness.
