Abstract:To investigate the coupling process of reaction and liquid-solid mass transfer in the one step production of alkyl polyglucoside (APG) from glucose and fatty alcohols, the liquid-solid mass transfer model between solid particle group and fatty alcohols was deduced from the liquid-solid mass transfer model of a single particle. The effects of particle size distribution, stirring speed, and temperature on the mass transfer process were investigated experimentally, and model parameters under different conditions were obtained from the associated experimental data. The results showed that the model can accurately predict the liquid-solid mass transfer between glucose and n-dodecanol. This model and its calculation results can be applied to the determination of the mass transfer rate and the reaction rate in the one-step process and accurately verify the control steps of the reaction process, which has great application value.
