Numerical Simulation Analysis of Flow Field Distribution In Radial Flow Reactor

Abstract:Radial flow reactors are energy efficient reactors. In order to deeply study the flow distribution characteristics of radial flow reactors with four different flow types, the porous media model was introduced, and the FLUENT software was used to conduct the numerical simulation of flow field in different types of radial flow reactors based on the feasibility of simulation verification. When the boundary conditions are set to a certain extent, the degree of variation in pressure drop along the axial direction between the shunt flow channels and the collector flow channels in the four types of radial flow reactors was simulated and analyzed. The results showed that the distribution of fluid flow in the centrifugal flow is better than that in the centripetal flow. The distribution of the flow field in the radial flow reactor with П-type centrifugal was the most uniform, followed by Z-type centrifugal flow, П-type centripetal flow and Z-type centripetal flow.
