Abstract:The treatment of simulated polyacrylamide wastewater by the O3/Fenton process in a rotating packed bed (RPB) was studied. The effects of initial pH, Fe (II) concentration, H2O2 concentration, O3 concentration, reaction temperature and RPB rotating speed on the removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and the degradation of polyacrylamide were investigated. The results showed that the COD removal of polyacrylamide wastewater and the degradation of polyacrylamide reached 89.96 %, and 96.82 % respectively in the O3/Fenton process under the conditions of initial pH 4, Fe (II) concentration 0.25 mmol/L, H2O2 concentration 0.8 mmol/L, O3 concentration 50 mg/L, reaction temperature 25 ℃ and RPB rotating speed 800 r/min, indicating that the RPB can effectively intensify the treatment of PAM wastewater by the O3/Fenton process.
