Abstract:The Ni-W/SSY catalyst prepared by incipient impregnation using a super steady Y (SSY) zeolite was used to produce biofuels mainly composed of bio-kerosene and bio-gasoline from bio-C16 and C18 n-alkanes by hydrocracking in which the kerosene yield can be improved. The catalyst was characterized by nitrogen physisorption, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). In the continuous hydrogenation on a micro fixed bed cracking reactor, the effect of reaction conditions on the one-through conversion and the mass ratio of kerosene to gasoline were studied. The results indicated that the single pass conversion of n-alkanes exceeded 60% and the mass ratio of kerosene to gasoline exceeded 2.0 when the reaction was carried out at 255 ℃, 1.0 MPa, space velocity (WHSV) 0.33 h-1 and hydrogen-oil ratio of 4 000:1. With its high catalytic activity, Ni-W/SSY can be used to produce kerosene based liquid fuels using long-chain alkanes as raw materials.
