Abstract:The research progress of the synthesis approaches and the structure-property relationships of silicone-polyamide block copolymers was reviewed. Silicone-polyamide diblock or triblock copolymers could be synthesized by the macroinitiate approach, while silicone-polyamide multiblock copolymers could be synthesized by polycondensation approach. The microphase separation as well as the properties of silicone-polymide copolymers could be affected by a series of factors such as the molecular weight, the composition, and the sequence structure. The intensive investigation of the manufacture-structure-property relationship of silicone-polyamide copolymers and the development of environment-benign manufacturing approach will be two potential research topics in the future.
