Abstract:For achieving a green technological route of synthesis phenol by hydroxylation of benzene with hydrogen peroxide, the Fe3O4/CNTs composites were prepared by the high-temperature decomposition method and Fe3O4/CNTs were used as catalyst in the directly producing phenol from benzene. The influence of reaction time, H2O2 dosage, catalysts dosage and the performance for repeated use of the catalyst on the catalytic behavior were studied. The micro-structure and the magnetic properties of Fe3O4/CNTs were investigated using transmission electron microscope(TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM). The results indicate that The Fe3O4/CNTs composites exhibited excellent catalytic performance and the Fe3O4 loaded on the CNTs is the mainly active components in the directly producing phenol from benzene. Moreover, the benzene conversion is 26% and phenol selectivity is 91% when the catalytic dosage is 30 mg, the reaction time is 90min and the H2O2 dosage is 1.5 ml in the experimental conditions.
