Abstract:Several solid acid catalysts were prepared in order to improve the yield of isosorbide. The dehydration process and their reactivity for sorbitol dehydration were studied. The conditions of sorbitol dehydration including catalyst dosage, reaction pressure, reaction temperature and reaction time, were further optimized. The results showed that the performance of solid acid catalyst with activated carbon as carrier was better than that of others. The yield of isosorbide reached 91.0% under the conditions of mass fraction of catalyst to sorbitol 1:4, pressure 6.3 kPa, reaction temperature 140 ℃ and reaction time 6 h.
