Abstract:The method of computational fluid dynamics was used to simulate and compare the fluid flow and the mass transfer in the local feature unit of JKB-250Y cross-corrugated packing and cross-corrugated packing with partition. The results showed that the local uniformity of mass transfer was improved and the resistance caused by two gas cross flow was eliminated to reduce the pressure drop of the channel by adding a partition in the cross-corrugated packing. The pressure drop of the cross-corrugated packing with corrugated partition was lower of 20%-50% than that of the traditional cross-corrugated packing, and the mass transfer coefficient was higher of 20%. So it is a great idea to increase the mass transfer coefficient and reduce the resistance by improving the distribution uniformity of local mass transfer.
