A Review on Surface Chemistry of Rutile TiO2(011) Surface

Abstract:The progress of recent research on the surface chemistry of TiO2(011) by means of high-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy(STM) and density function theory(DFT) calculation was reviewed. The surface configuration of restructure TiO2(011) surface, surface restructuring by interacting with acetic acid molecules, hydrogen adsorption and reactions on the surface were discussed. An atomic scale insight was presented to understand how the surface structures, orientations, electronic structures and adsorption properties of TiO2(011) surface affect its activities.
