Numerical Simulation of Flow Behavior of Geldart B Particles in Bubbling Fluidized Beds

Abstract:The two-fluid model was adopted to simulate the gas-solid flow in the bubbling fluidized bed. The results showed that the flow behavior of Geldart B particles in bubbling fluidized bed could be predicted well by the structure drag model. By comparing the solid particle distribution in the initialization fluidization with that in the complete fluidization, it was found that the bubble moving characteristic could be captured by the structure drag model. Moreover, the radial solid particle distribution was predicted better by the structure drag model than by the traditional drag model.
