Abstract:In order to investigate the effect of the routinely used four hydroanthraquinone solvents on hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone based working solution, the industrial fluidized bed catalyst for H2O2 production was used and experiments were carried out on fresh catalyst and solvent saturated catalyst, respectively. The results indicated that no matter for the hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone, or the mixture of 2-ethyl-tetrahydroanthraquinone and 2-ethylanthraquinone, the reaction rate over the solvent trioctyl phosphate was lower than that of diisobutyl carbinol and 2-methylcyclohexyl acetate. According to the analysis based on Wilke-Chang equation, the results can be ascribed to the low viscosity and surface tension of diisobutyl carbinol and 2-methylcyclohexyl acetate, which facilitates hydrogen mass transfer in working solution.
