Abstract The rapid development of continuous flow microreactors provides an accurate control path for chemical synthesis technology. However, the scale effect and configuration of the microreactor have a great influence on the flow structure, mass transfer, and chemical reaction of the reaction fluid. In this paper, an effective virtual serial competitive reaction Lattice Boltzmann model was used in the microfluid. The flow field structure, mixing mass transfer, and chemical reaction of Y-type and inverted Y-type microreactors were numerically studied. It was found that the flow in the microreactor was mainly laminar flow, the convective mass transfer intensity in its mixer was very small, and the chemical reaction in the microreactor was based on diffusion mass transfer. The results of the numerical simulation can provide a meaningful reference for the design of continuous flow microreactor and the precise control of microreaction.
