Abstract  The treatment of simulated coking wastewater by the O3/Fenton process in a rotating packed bed (RPB) was studied. The effects of Fe(II) concentration, RPB rotating speed, liquid flow rate, gas flow rate and initial pH on the removal of chemical oxygen demand(COD) and the degradation of phenol, aniline, quinoline, and NH3-N were investigated. The results showed that the COD removal of the coking wastewater reached 43.57%, and the degradation of phenol, aniline, quinoline and NH3-N reached 81.56%, 100%, 81.17% and 100%, respectively, in the O3/Fenton process under the conditions of 25 ℃, rotating speed 1 000 r/min, pH value 6, H2O2 concentration 6.5 mmol/L, Fe2+ concentration 0.4 mmol/L, gas flow rate 5 L/h, and liquid flow rate 20 L/h.
