Abstract:Adding the dehydrating agent 2-cyanopyridine to the system for the direct preparation of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from CO2 and methanol can greatly improve the yield of the product. The disadvantage is that the dehydrating agent 2-cyanopyridine will be consumed equimolar and 2-picolinamide will be generated while preparing DMC. In this paper, CeO2 was used as a catalyst, 2-picolinamide was used as raw material, and ammonia gas was used as water entraining agent. The effects of reaction temperature, reactant concentration, ammonia flow rate, and catalyst concentration on the dehydration of 2-picolinamide were investigated. The optimal operating conditions of the catalytic reactant were determined as follows: reaction temperature 260 ℃, ammonia gas as water entraining agent, diphenyl ether as solvent, and reaction time 3 h, The mass ratio of reaction catalyst to reactant was 0.1:1. Under these reaction conditions, the conversion of 2-picolinamide was greater than 90%, and the yield of 2-cyanopyridine was close to 70%.
