Abstract:Different types of flocculants polyaluminum chloride (PAC), polymerized ferric sulfate (PFS) and polyacrylamide (PAM) were used to treat the effluent of high-concentration salty crude oil tanks to explore the effects of flocculant dosage, stirring speed, pH and dosage time interval on flocculation effect. The effect was better when flocculant PAC and cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) were used to treat the discharged wastewater of high-concentration salty crude oil tanks. The dosage of flocculant, flocculation stirring speed, pH and dosing interval have a certain influence on the effect of flocculation, among which the dosage of flocculant has the greatest influence. It showed better flocculation effect under the conditions of pH range of 6-11, PAC dosage of 400 mg/L, mixing and stirring speed of 200 r/min, CPAM dosage of 1.0 mg/L and mixing and stirring speed of 100 r/min, and the dosing interval of the two flocculants is 60 min. The removal rate of turbidity by flocculation was as high as 98.7%, the removal rate of solid suspended solids (SS) was noted about 96.5%, the petroleum content in wastewater decreased from 0.339 mg/L to 0.115 mg/L, the removal rate of ammonia nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and absorbance at 254 nm UV light (UV254) in wastewater reached 55.0%, 36.6% and 20.4%, respectively, and the total iron content of the final condensed water reduced from 41.85 mg/L to 5.42 mg/L.
