Abstract:In order to study the flow behavior in the wall region of a coupled fluidized bed, the axial pressure drop, particle velocity and solids holdup of the riser were measured by pressure sensor, PV-6 particle velocity measurement instrument and PC6D solids holdup measurement instrument. The results showed that the particle velocity ranges from 0.8 m/s to 1.6 m/s. With the increase of solids circulation rate and gas velocity, the descend velocity of particles increases. The correlation between particle velocity and cross-sectional solids holdup is obtained. Increasing solid circulation and decreasing gas velocity could increase the decreasing solids holdup and solid flow rate, but the change of backmixing ratio is relatively small and the correlation between the solids holdup and the cross-sectional solids holdup was obtained. Therefore, for the coupled fluidized bed, the flow characteristics of solid particles in the wall region can be manipulated by changing the operating conditions.
