Abstract:Ni/MgAl2O4 catalysts for the combined steam and CO2 reforming of methane (CSCRM) were prepared by conventional impregnation and sol-gel methods, and were characterized by hydrogen temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and temperature programmed desorption (TPD) experiments. The catalytic performances tests and characterization results showed that the Ni/MgAl2O4 catalyst prepared by sol-gel method presented stronger interaction between Ni species and support compared with that prepared by conventional impregnation method, and thus exhibited higher catalytic activity and stability in CSCRM reaction. Furthermore, the effects of Ni loading on reaction performance of Ni/MgAl2O4 catalyst prepared by the sol-gel method were investigated, based which the structure-activity relationship of the catalyst was discussed. These results presented here would be helpful for the design and optimization of Ni-based catalyst for the CSCRM reaction.
