Abstract:Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), a typical green and efficient oxidant, is expected to play an important role in future chemical industry towards green, efficient and safe processes. Anthraquinone oxidation (AO) has been commercialized to produce H2O2, but the AO process suffers from its complex procedure and environmental issues. Therefore, it is urgent to develop a safe, efficient and green process to produce H2O2. Here, a trickle bed reactor was adopted to continuously produce H2O2 based on the catalytic synthesis of H2 and O2 under atmospheric pressure. The reaction parameters including Pd/C catalyst loading density, gas flow rate of reactants, volume ratio of O2 to H2 and inert gas N2 fraction in feed were systematically investigated and optimized to maximize the H2O2 production and minimize the safety risks. The work provides an effective reference for the continuous, stable and efficient green production process of direct synthesis of H2O2.
