Abstract:To investigate the effect of solvents such as heavy arene (Ar), Tri-iso-octyl phosphate (TOP), 2-methylcyclohexyl acetate (MCA), tetrabutylurea (TBU) and 2,6-dimethyl-4-heptanol (DIBC) on γ-Al2O3 for regeneration of anthraquinone degradation products in H2O2 production by anthraquinone process, two strategies, that was, γ-Al2O3 pretreated by the corresponding solvent, and diluting the working solution by different solvents were adopted. The results showed that Ar, TBU, and DIBC had almost no effect on γ-Al2O3 for regeneration of anthraquinone degradation products, while TOP, and MCA could significantly reduced the regeneration performance. It was presumably caused by magnitude of the interaction between the solvent and basic sites on γ-Al2O3.
