Progress of Application of Colorless Polyimide Film in Flexible Thin Film Transistor

Abstract:In order to realize the application of flexible and foldable display device, polyimide film is widely used in flexible thin film transistor (TFT) device. Colorless polyimide (CPI) is one kinds of polyimide with good heat resistance and optical properties, which has gained attention in recent years. Fully transparent display can be realized by using CPI film. This review summarized the demand for various performances of CPI substrate in application of flexible TFT substrate. In view of each performance of CPI contradict to each other, which included transparency, heat-resistance and dimensional stability, it was indicated that select suitable monomer with the assistant of computational calculation and adjust process might give contribution to the improvement of materials perfomance. It would be possible to provide more applications with the development of CPI film.
