Abstract:By using RNG k-ε turbulence model and Euler two-fluid multiphase model, simulation of countercurrent-crossflow liquid-liquid imping scrubber was presented and the computed results were validated via experiments. The effects of velocity field, turbulence intensity, axial and tangential feed ratio of liquid sulfur, feed ratio of quench liquid and liquid sulfur and nozzle outlet diameter on liquid sulfur quenching were simulated and analyzed. The results showed that the turbulence intensity in the foam area formed by collision of liquid of the two phase was quite high. Two-phase liquid mass transfer effect was good and liquid sulfur quench cooling effect exhibited better and insoluble sulfur yield was high when ratio of liquid sulfur axial feed and tangential feed was 8/12, quench liquid and liquid sulfur feed ratio was 1.04, nozzle outlet diameter was 15 mm.
