Abstract:In this study, the hydrodeoxygenation experiment of low temperature coal tar fractions with the boiling point less than 240 ℃ was carried out in a fixed bed reactor with Ni-Mo/γ-Al2O3 catalyst,to study on effects of the transformation of oxygenates on the properties of hydrogenation products. The influences of different reaction conditions such as temperature, pressure and liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV) on the compositions and properties of hydrogenation products were investigated. The results showed that the content of oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen in the hydrogenation products obtained under the reaction condition of high temperature, high pressure and low LHSV met the gasoline standards for automobiles. The content of alkylbenzene and naphthenes increased, so that atomic ratio of H to C increased in the hydrogenation products. However, the octane number (RON) and density of the hydrogenation products were lower, so that the hydrogenation products could not be directly used as motor gasoline. The naphtha yield was 85%, water was 12%, and cracking gas was 3% when the temperature was 380 ℃, the pressure was 5 MPa, and the LHSV was 0.5 h-1. The hydrodeoxygenation reaction law of coal tar was described by the established kinetic model. The results showed that the experimental values and calculated values of the oxygenated compounds in the hydrogenated products were in good agreement, and the reaction rules were consistent.
