Abstract:SEB-08 catalyst for the alkylation of benzene with dilute ethylene exhibited high conversion of ethylene, selectivity to ethyl, low xylene in product and long regeneration recycle. In order to further save energy and reduce consumption, Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology had developed SEB-12 catalyst, which was suitable for working in low molar ratio of benzene to ethylene. In this work, the industrial application experiment was introduced, especially the analysis of its economy. The results showed that SEB-12 catalyst still maintained high conversion of ethylene, selectivity to ethyl and long regeneration cycle after the molar ratio of benzene to ethylene reduced from 6.0-7.0 to 5.0-5.2. By using SEB-12 catalyst, the gas consumption required for the production of ethylbenzene per ton could be reduced by 0.013 tons on average, the cost of ethylbenzene per ton could be reduced by RMB 65 Yuan, and the cumulative annual cost could be reduced by RMB 5.492 million Yuan.
