Abstract:In order to study the process characteristics of NOx absorption by aqueous solutions of NaClO2, effects of initial NaClO2 and NO concentrations, reaction temperature, ratio of liquid to gas and initial pH value on the denitrification process were investigated in a compact packed tower. The experimental results revealed that the performance of NaClO2 aqueous solutions was excellent and NO conversion could reach as high as 100% under appropriate operating conditions. In addition, reaction mechanism between NaClO2 and NOx was analyzed reasonably.
