Abstract:To investigate the kinetic mechanism of the liquid-phase sulfonation of olefins and optimize reaction control strategies, this study employed a continuous-flow microreactor as the reaction platform. The kinetics of the sulfonation of 1-tetradecene with liquid-phase SO3 was investigated using the differential method. Kinetic parameters and the kinetic equation were determined by measuring the changes in reactant concentrations with reaction time under different conditions. The results showed that when the reaction temperature ranging from 293 K to 343 K, in the kinetic equation for the sulfonation of 1-tetradecene in the continuous-flow microreactor, the reaction order of 1-tetradecene was 1.26, the reaction order of SO3 was 1.15, the pre-exponential factor was 437.02 mol-1.41·L1.41·s-1 and the activation energy was 13.33 kJ/mol. The kinetic equation showed good agreement with the experimental results. This study could provide a theoretical reference for optimizing the olefin sulfonation process under microfluidic technology.
