Abstract：In response to the environmental hazards and resource waste caused by the large amount of wet-based waste residue generated by the cyanamide industry, this study first employed a method combining acid washing and high-temperature alkali fusion to purify nano-graphitic carbon (N-GC) from cyanamide waste residue (FZ) and optimized the purification process conditions. Subsequently, the structure and physical properties of N-GC were characterized and analyzed. Finally, material balance calculations and cost estimates were conducted. The results showed that by treating 50 g of FZ with an initial acid wash using 800 mL of 1.1 mol/L hydrochloric acid solution to obtain crude waste residue carbon (FZ-C), followed by high-temperature alkali fusion for impurity removal under conditions of the mass ration of sodium hydroxide to FZ-C as 4:3, calcinated at 650 ℃ for 1 h and the concentration of hydrochloric acid solution as 2.3 mol/L. The obtained N-GC had high specific surface area, large pore volume, high contents of defective site and good hydrophilicity. Approximately 76 kg of N-GC could be obtained under the optimal purification conditions by treating 1 ton of cyanamide waste residue. This study provided a detailed experimental approach for the purification and utilization of carbon resources in cyanamide waste residue, which was of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the cyanamide industry.
