Hydroisomerization of n-Dodecane over Pt/SAPO-11 Catalyst

Abstract Following the hydrodeoxygenation of oil and grease feedstocks, the subsequent pro-hydrogen isomerization step assumes a pivotal role in the preparation of bio-aviation. A Pt/SAPO-11 catalyst was meticulously synthesized through the impregnation method, involving the loading of Pt onto SAPO-11 molecular sieve. Comprehensive characterization of the physicochemical properties of both the molecular sieve and the catalyst was conducted. Subsequently, the isomerization performance of the catalyst was assessed using a fixed-bed hydrogenation reactor, employing n-dodecane as a model compound. The results showed the temperature as the primary influencing factor on conversion and selectivity. Specifically, as the reaction temperature increased from 350 ℃ to 390 ℃, the conversion of n-dodencane was increased from 18.8% to 86.2%, the selectivity of isododecane was decreased from 99.7% to 67.2%. Under the conditions of 380 ℃, 2 MPa, weight hourly space velocity of 0.45 h-1, and hydrogen-oil volume ratio of 1 500, the conversion of n-dodecane reached 80.5%, and the selectivity of isododecane was 70.1%.
