In view of the deepening of eutrophication in China's offshore waters, the current research focused on the core issue of water eutrophication, that is, the removal of high-concentration N and P elements. Based on the fuel cell reaction mechanism and displacement reaction principle, this work proposed the idea of combining N and P removal and MgNH4PO4 synthesis during the power generation process, and designed the reaction route. Water containing N and P was used as the electrolyte of the magnesium fuel cell, and positive ammonium ions, phosphate ions and magnesium ions in the water are combined to produce MgNH4PO4 products through the ion reaction of the magnesium fuel cell. The formation mechanism of MgNH4PO4 was explored, and preliminarily judge through data analysis that it had a good effect in treating seawater eutrophication, the output of magnesium fuel cells is stable when it is working, which has certain feasibility.
